For the fourth edition, HeidelbergCement’s subsidiary Lehigh Hanson will join again the Quarry Life Award with three quarries in the US and one in Canada. In the U.S., the quarries “Eagle Mills Sand & Gravel Plant” in Camden (Arkensas), “New Windsor limestone quarry” in New Windsor (Maryland) and “Nazareth Quarry I” in Northampton County (Pennsylvania) will be opening their doors for projects by scientists and communities. While in Canada, the Cadomin limestone quarry, located in the town of Cadomin (Alberta), was chosen to participate. The QLA team as well as the national coordinator are looking forward to many projects proposals for raising awareness about the biological value of mineral extraction sites.
For more information about these three participating quarries, please contact Thomas A. Chizmadia, National Coordinator for North America.
